  • What is Profhilo?

    It is not a dermal filler, nor is it a skin revitalizer. The first of its kind, Profhilo® is a revolutionary hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment, made with patented NAHYCO® technology. Profhilo contains pure hyaluronic acid (HA), produced without the use of chemical cross-linking agents (BDDE). With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue. This deep hydration is responsible for what patients often refer to as the coveted “Profhilo glow”.

    How long does Profhilo last?

    As a stabilised product Profhilo® lasts in the skin around 28 days. For long lasting results, it is recommended 2 - 3 treatment sessions one month apart, after repeat the treatment every six months. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagens and elastin takes place by slow release of HA. This stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. 

    What is Profhilo Structura?

    Profhilo Structura is an innovative facial treatment designed to restore adipose tissue and provide deep firmness. It uses a unique formulation of stabilized hybrid cooperative complexes (HCC) of high and low molecular weight ultrapure hyaluronic acid, produced with IBSA's patented NAHYCO® Technology. It has a G’ prime of 95 and combines high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid for adipose restoration. Structura comes in 2ml pre-filled syringes which contain a total of 90mg of HA.

    Which areas can be treated with Structura?

    Currently, Profhilo® Structura can be used to treat subcutaneous fat loss in the face only. Its primary purpose is to address facial sinking and sagging.

    Profhilo Structura addresses common signs of facial aging, such as:

    • Increased hollows in the cheeks

    • Flattening of facial angles

    • Loss of fat volume in the middle and lateral cheek compartments

    IBSA Derma describes Structura-suitable indications as:

    • Sinkers: Predominant hollow or sunken appearance, often exhibit adipose tissue depletion in the lateral cheek.

    • Saggers: Predominant appearance of tissue droop and fat bulges. The tissues appear as if they are sliding away from the underlying bone structure, and connective tissues lose their integrity.

    Whilst Profhilo® has options for the face and the body, currently Structura is solely indicated for adipose restoration in facial treatments. It’s designed to restore facial structures where age-related changes have caused atrophy in the subcutaneous layer. 

    How do we inject Profhilo® Structura?

    Unlike Profhilo, Structura is administered with a cannula, that is the key difference in the technique between the two products.

    How long do Profhilo® Structura results last?

    Treatments initially involve two sessions, 30 days apart, followed by maintenance appointments where needed. Results last around 4 months.
